One reason to avoid Office 365

Before subscribing Office 365 one needs to check whether installing Office 365 on a system removes all older Office versions. Mr. John Peltier says he read that this risk exists (http://peltiertech.com/office-2016-for-mac-is-here/), so do not blindly follow the Microsoft marketing push.

Upgrading to Office 365 may present advantages for the end-user, but for an Office developer this is not acceptable.

  1. I don’t know for sure that Office 365 removes all prior versions of Office. I had read that that was the case, and rather than risking the loss of installed versions, I dedicated a separate laptop to Office 365.
